Villa Manin is a Venetian villa located in Passariano di Codroipo, in the province of Udine. The monumental architectural complex was built in the sixteenth century at the behest of the Friulian nobleman Antonio Manin who, when he lost the dominion of the seas, concentrated on the resources offered by the mainland, setting up a farm and placing a manor house in the center. Home of the last doge of Venice, Ludovico Manin, in 1797 Napoleon Bonaparte lived there for about two months with Giuseppina Beauharnais. Here many talks were conducted for the stipulation of the treaty between Austria and France known as the “Treaty of Campoformio” (October 17, 1797). Restored in the 1960s, the Villa was from 2004 to 2008 the seat of a contemporary art center and for some years it has hosted international exhibitions, while its splendid park, with free admission, offers a suggestive landscape suspended between magredi and resurgences, in which quality musical and theatrical events are held, as well as traditional horticultural events
