From 17 December to 30 June 2024
Shamans and shamanism: terms that evoke an imagination made up of atavistic rites, disturbing masks, hallucinations and exotic places. But what is shamanism really? Who are the shamans and what do they do? Do they still exist?
An immersive journey through anthropology , ethnography , psychology , archeology and art to discover places, rites, languages and objects of the Mongolian and Siberian cultures that still practice shamanism today.
The focus of the exhibition is the collection and experience of the Sergio Poggianella Foundation with over one hundred finds and artefacts from China, Siberia and Mongolia which allow us to investigate the theme in its totality and complexity. The exhibition unites three important museums for the first time of the Autonomous Province of Trento: MUSE – Science Museum of Trento , Mart – Museum of modern and contemporary art of Trento and Rovereto , and METS – Trentino ethnographic museum of San Michele .
The exhibition is located at Palazzo delle Albere.
With the full entrance ticket to MUSE , Mart or METS you can purchase a reduced entrance ticket to the Shamans exhibition. Communicating with the invisible . You have until June 30, 2024 to visit the exhibition.
