With 37 works by 25 artists from the collections of the Barberini Corsini National Galleries and MAXXI, the exhibition brings together ancient and contemporary art on the theme of portrait and self-portrait. From Caravaggio to Giulio Paolini, from Raffaello to Richard Serra, from Bernini to Yan Pei Ming, the works tell the themes of temporality, the representation of power, eroticism, the intimate and the exotic.
