The ancient town hall was built between 1440 and 1462 during the marquisate of Ludovico I (1416- 1475): in these years the ruling class of the city initiated an important urban and cultural renewal of the city to make it a true Renaissance capital construction of new representative buildings is part of this objective. The façade has an elegant fifteenth-century decoration in terracotta with string courses and frames on the windows.

Like the Old Town Hall, the civic tower was built between 1440 and 1462 during the marquisate of Ludovico I (1416- 1475). With a square plan, in 1556 it was raised with the addition of a second ambulatory and the so-called "castle of the bell", where the large bell that marked the time of the life of the city was located.

The Hall on the second floor of the Old Town Hall has housed the Pinacoteca dedicated to the painter Matteo Olivero (1879-1932) since 2013. Born in Acceglio in the upper Val Maira, Matteo Olivero exhibited in Paris, Brussels and Munich developing a completely personal style within the Italian divisionism movement through his friendship with Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo and Giovanni Segantini. The path is divided into four exhibition areas based on as many themes (the time of social realism, adherence to divisionism, the 1920s, the working method) to rediscover the human and artistic story of a great artist, popularly known as the "painter of the snows": his fame is in fact linked to the vast and very definitive visions of the beloved mountains of Cuneo, which celebrate the solemnity of the mountain under the crystalline light of snowy winters.

Among the works on display, attention is captured by the large pointillist painting entitled "Morning: upper Macra Valley", exhibited in Paris in 1910: the painting, which represents the surroundings of Ussolo (Cn), represents an exploit of skill by the young Olivero in the midst of its adhesion to Italian divisionism.
