At Palazzo Rosso, a noble residence adorned with frescoes by the major seventeenth-century Ligurian painters and precious furnishings , a rich picture gallery is on display which includes paintings collected over more than two centuries by the noble Brignole-Sale family .

Among the artists exhibited in the gallery of the aristocratic Genoese palace: Dürer, Veronese, Guercino, Strozzi, Grechetto, Van Dyck, and many others.

The splendid picture gallery which, together with the furnishings and Palazzo Rosso , the Duchess of Galliera donated to the Municipality of Genoa in 1874 had been consciously created by the Brignole - Sale family through a wise policy of acquisitions and commissions, which unfolded for over two centuries, to seal the social, economic and political rise.
