Established in Ivrea in 1998 on the initiative of the Olivetti Company, in agreement with the Adriano Olivetti Foundation and with the participation of important public and private partners, the Olivetti Historical Archive Association carries out the collection, reorganization, conservation, study and valorisation of documentary legacy regarding the history of the Company and the personalities of the Olivetti Family.
The heritage, consisting of documents, letters, publications, posters, drawings, photographs, films and products, is the subject of a systematic work of archival description and progressive digitalisation.
The Association's activity manifests itself through consultancy to scholars and researchers, collaboration in cultural initiatives of private and public bodies, the care of a permanent exhibition at its headquarters, the creation of exhibitions, events, conferences and publications aimed at to promote and deepen knowledge of Olivetti's history and values.
To offer the public ever new tools useful for discovering and sharing the successes of Olivetti's #HistoryOfInnovation, the Association is engaged in a daily digital narration on the main social networks, in the creation of multimedia thematic itineraries on the StoriaOlivetti.it website and in the implementation of Olivetti Digital Archives, a free, continuously updated online platform which already collects over 400,000 archival records of the documentary heritage preserved.
