ADI Design Museum is the place dedicated to the Compasso d'Oro collection, a dynamic place characterized not only by creativity and design culture but also by interaction with the city of Milan and the international panorama. The museum is located in Piazza Compasso d'Oro 1, in correspondence with via Ceresio and piazzale Monumentale, and is part of the context of a former industrial area of very high architectural and urban value, the object, in recent years, of an important action of urban refitting.
ADI Design Museum will be a narrative and experiential museum, a container open to exchange, which does not only speak to industry professionals. The aim of ADI - Association for Industrial Design and its Foundation, thanks to whose activity and vision such an important place is inaugurated, was precisely to build an inclusive, non-celebratory reality, capable of offering the most engaging as possible but above all in progress, photographing the sense of modernity thanks to the continuous updating of the pieces of the Compasso d'Oro Collection which takes place every two years.
The permanent collection is, in fact, the backbone of a constantly evolving narrative system, which will be accompanied by temporary in-depth exhibitions and transversal but always relevant initiatives to the world of design . A cultural center characterized by contemporaneity and research, which aims to play an active role within the museum and cultural network at a global level. A place also capable of going beyond the traditional confines of museums and opening up to the complexity of a globalized reality in all its manifestations, establishing contacts between the world of design and that of fashion, architecture, science, technology and creativity in general, but also of the production system.
