The museum house of Palazzo Tozzoni in Imola has intact the charm of a building inhabited for five centuries by the same family and the apartments, perfectly preserved, represent an example of the ways of living that have alternated over time. Open to the public since 1981, the exhibition offers an intact testimony of the life that unfolded, from public to daily life, in a path that discovers the places intended for representation such as the hall and the apartments on the main floor, the more private ones such as the library, living rooms on the ground floor, up to domestic spaces such as kitchens, cellars and courtyards with wells and tubs. The almost two hundred paintings of the art collection, in which the Bolognese school prevails with paintings by Passerotti, Fontana, Cesi, Donnini, Beccadelli, and applied art objects, furnishings, family memories and a collection of demo-ethno-anthropological materials coming from the farms of the accounts, they interact with each other in a substantially intact context. The history and family events, the changing fashions and the taste for collecting that determined the different architectural and furnishing choices, pass down to us.
