Palazzo Bianco in Genoa is located in the extraordinary setting of Via Garibaldi, the magnificent Renaissance and Baroque Strada Nuova declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Palazzo Bianco was largely destroyed in 1942 due to bombings. It was later rebuilt in its eighteenth-century facies and had, upon its reopening in 1950, a new layout and layout designed by Franco Albini (1905 - 1977), an architect with a rationalist background.
Palazzo Bianc o is today part of an original museum itinerary that connects three important Genoese palaces: Palazzo Rosso, Palazzo Bianco and Palazzo Doria Tursi.
Inside Palazzo Bianco you can admire an important collection of Genoese, Italian and European paintings from the 16th to the 18th century: alongside authentic masterpieces by Italian (Caravaggio, Veronese), Flemish (Hans Memling, Gerard David, Jean Provost, Rubens, Van Dyck), Dutch (Steen), French (Vouet, Lancret) and Spanish (Zurbaran, Murillo) , a vast exhibition of Genoese painting from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century stands out (Cambiaso, Strozzi, Piola, Magnasco).
