From 16 July to 22 October 2023
GianMarco Porru draws on the cultures and mythologies of the Mediterranean in his installations, films and photographs. There is a constant transit between past and present, a dialogue between popular traditions and contemporary visual culture. Different characters dot an imaginary that looks to a stratified pantheon in which references to the ancient world are intertwined with classical literature, Hellenistic cultures and astrological mysteries.
Stazione Celeste is part of this practice and presents itself, at the MA*GA, with a series of photographic works and an environmental installation in which we see Artemis, Selene and Hecate appear, respectively personifications of the crescent moon, the full moon and the waning moon in dialogue with constellations that humans question to know the future but also to discover attitudes and deceptions.
