The San Domenico complex constitutes a fundamental part of the historic center of Forlì. The complex is made up of the Church of S. Giacomo Apostolo, now used as an auditorium, and the Convent of San Domenico, seat of the ancient section of the Civic Art Gallery, where art and thematic exhibitions and exhibitions of international importance are set up. The exhibition itinerary of the Pinacoteca foresees the first visit to the right wing, where the oldest works are located, including the works of Beato Angelico, Lorenzo di Credi and Marco Palmezzano. with the works of Carrari, Rondinelli, Longhi, Menzocchi and many others. The remaining rooms and the gallery exhibit works of late Mannerism and the early seventeenth century from Emilia and Romagna. The last room, with the Fiasca with Flowers by the Maestro della Fiasca di Forlì, one of the most significant still lifes in the Italian panorama of the seventeenth century, the paintings by Carlo Magini and Nicola Bertuzzi, anticipates the future path of the Piancoteca. Finally, the oval room hosts Ebe, the famous work of the sculptor Antonio Canova. The ten-year collaboration with the Cassa dei Risparmi Foundation of Forlì has allowed the San Domenico Museums to become the setting for temporary exhibitions of great importance.
