From 11 March 2022 to 8 January 2023 the rooms of the GAMeC - Galleria d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Bergamo host the third project of the cycle The Impermanent Collection, the research, exhibition and curatorial platform that since 2018 has enhanced the hybrid nature of collection of the museum, reflecting on its dynamic and sometimes contradictory character, and proposing to make it a tool for activating memories and involving the public through the use of innovative exhibition formats.

If the first chapter recounted the establishment and evolution of the Collection, presenting a selection of the main nuclei of the collection and the second put the museum's works in dialogue with a group of prestigious works confiscated in Lombardy and managed by the National Agency for administration of seized assets, The Impermanent Collection #3.0, curated by Sara Fumagalli, Valentina Gervasoni and A. Fabrizia Previtali, inaugurates the celebrations dedicated to the thirtieth anniversary of the GAMeC (opened in 1991) by presenting to the public a rich selection of works by heritage of the museum created by authors of different generations, from the 1990s to today.

The exhibition is a fluid display which, on the one hand, aims to explore themes that have crossed the history of art over the last thirty years, starting from the works of the Collection organized in a series of thematic installations, with the intention of creating unprecedented connections and reveal unexpected contrasts and resonances; on the other it intends to emphasize impermanence, understood as an openness to new possibilities and future perspectives.

The exhibition also works on the temporariness, emphasizing the non-definitive nature of its narratives thanks to cyclical rearrangements during the exhibition, alongside new presentations and interventions by young artists called to dialogue with the museum's works.
