Fondazione Coppola was born in 2018 as an exhibition venue for contemporary art, inside the Torrionedi Porta Castello, a historic building from the 12th century, which has always been one of the symbols of the city. With its 41.60 meters of height, the Torrione is one of the tallest historic buildings in the Vicenza urban landscape. The actual tower, home to the Foundation's activities, is spread over 8 levels: from a public reception room up to the magnificent space at the top, from which you can enjoy an uninterrupted and exceptional view of the Berico buildings and the surrounding hill systems and mountainous.
The museum itinerary, developed by architects Paolo De Biasi and Francesco Durante, winds along the entire architectural body: panels have been installed at each level where the works illuminated with a LED system with diffused or punctual light will be placed, according to the different needs. Panels and lighting fixtures enhance the volumes and spaces of the tower, underlining its characteristics with light visual and structural presences and guaranteeing a high degree of flexibility.
The mission of the Coppola Foundation is to promote the languages of contemporary art, investing both in already acclaimed figures but also in emerging artists.
