The Poggibonsi Archeodrome is a unique and immersive experience, a journey into the past at the time of Charlemagne and was created to reproduce on a 1: 1 scale one of the most important discoveries made on the hill of Poggio Imperiale. It is a Frankish period village (9th - mid-10th century), which recognizes the conformation of a possible Curtense company with a manor house consisting of a large hut (longhouse) of 17 x 8.5 meters, surrounded by several smaller structures for craft activities and the storage of food and agricultural products, as well as service buildings.

Inaugurated in 2014 and further expanded in 2016, the Poggibonsi Archeodrome is a project that pursues the ongoing reconstruction of the 17 structures found during the excavation of the Carolingian period village: currently the longhouse has been built, a peasant hut with a farmyard and chicken coop , the blacksmith's forge, a bread oven, two haystacks and a vegetable garden; to these are added some temporary sheds for craft activities but destined in the near future to be replaced by other structures. In fact, over the next few years, the archeodrome will be expanded with the reconstruction of many other huts, from the butcher's shop, the granary, the employee huts, the ceramic furnace and all the other ancillary structures for economic activities centered on the agricultural exploitation of surrounding land and on the farm.

The rooms of the North-West bastion host two museum exhibits, one focused on the evolution of Renaissance fortified architecture following the introduction of gunpowder, the other on materials from the excavation, in particular osteological and ceramic finds.
