Human Condition - Zhang Hongmei, curated by Giacomo Fanale and Vincenzo Sanfo, and included in the Week of Cultures circuit, with the patronage of the Municipality of Palermo, the Metropolitan City, Sant'Elia Foundation, Diffusione Italia and Arionte Artecontemporanea of Catania. “Human Condition” presents works by Zhang Hongmei, which seek a comparison between classic themes - the famous terracotta warriors - and a contemporary, colorful, mocking reinterpretation, perhaps mitigated by fabrics, patches, shreds. Much appreciated in her country, Zhang Hongmei has made herself known abroad for her extreme versatility.
An unprecedented installation is mounted at the Loggiato San Bartolomeo , a forest of 48 trees with colored and fluorescent barks . A hymn to life, to the millennial strength of Nature. Zhang Hongmei is arriving from the Venice Biennale where he exhibits for the second time - with the other 15 Chinese artists currently on display at the Sant'Elia Foundation for “China Art Now” - in the San Marino Pavilion.
