The desire to know the stars has not only characterized religious sentiment, writers and poets, in fact, influenced by the astronomical discoveries of the Renaissance, from Copernicus (1473-1543) to Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) and Johannes Keplero (1571-1630), they imagined the possibility of reaching the stars, the moon in particular. This is how in 1620 the English bishop Francis Godwin wrote one of the first science fiction texts in history, The Man in the Moone, in which he recounts the flight of a man on the moon carried by a flying machine led by a flock of birds.
