The former Cavallerizza di Lucca is a place dedicated to temporary art exhibitions and cultural initiatives of various kinds. It is located in Piazzale Verdi, in the heart of Lucca within the walls and near Porta Sant'Anna. An evocative space, easily reachable on foot and a few steps from the free car park on Via delle Tagliate (Lucca cemetery area).
After the Museum of Madness and The Painters of Light. From Caravaggio to Paolini , Contemplazioni brings to the Cavallerizza, from 8 December 2023 to 29 September 2024, the exhibition Antonio Canova and Neoclassicism in Lucca , curated by Vittorio Sgarbi. An evocative journey that starts from Antonio Canova - universal icon of the new classicism - and from the most famous international exponents such as Francisco Goya and Francesco Hayez, to arrive at the Lucca and Tuscan masters of the same current.
