The World Museum in Liverpool is the largest museum in the English city of the same name and houses a large collection of archaeological, ethnological and natural science finds. It also includes a natural history center and a large planetarium with a whopping sixty-two seats. The World Museum was inaugurated in 1851 and then expanded several times, also considering the great reconstruction work after the bombings of the Second World War. Inside the museum there are collections from the Royal Institute, the Bidston Observatory and several university faculties.

The section of the museum dedicated to man, starts from ancient Egypt and this includes donations made over the years from Egypt and other countries; it is more than 15 thousand pieces. Also for the section dedicated to zoology and biology, the museum has made use of frequent donations from all over the globe. The sector dealing with geology is one of the most interesting in the museum, with more than forty thousand fossils.
