The Museum of Mediterranean Weaves explores, researches and exhibits, through the forms and decorations of ceramics, jewellery, fabrics and costumes, the existing links between the cultures of the peoples of the Mediterranean in artistic production.

The Museum also houses one of the most important contemporary art collections in Italy, testimony to the contribution that artists from all over the world have given to the reconstruction of the city of Gibellina after the earthquake that destroyed it in '68.

The Baglio Di Stefano, home of the Museum, in the ancient Granaio exhibits the works of the Forma 1 group with the works of Carla Accardi, Dorazio, Sanfilippo, Turcato and Consagra; of the Piazza del Popolo group, with Schifano, Angeli, Tano Festa and Mambor; of the artists of the last decades Boetti, Scialoja, Germanà, Nunzio, Genovese, Matta, Emilio Isgrò and Luca Patella with some charismatic presences such as that of Beuys.

The works of artists from the Mediterranean area are also exhibited, including Hakim Abbaci, Nja Mahdaoui, Moussa Traore and the Tappeto Volante, an installation by the Stalker Group. In the outdoor spaces there are The Mountain of Salt by Mimmo Paladino, Circle of Life by Richard Long and installations by Alfredo Romano, Peter Briggs, Francesco Arecco, Michele Cossyro, Ben Jakober, Salvatore Cuschera.
