From 27 September to 7 January 2024
Vite Operose is a participatory and widespread art project, dedicated to the theme of work as an element of identity and a tool of integration, which was born in Franciacorta to develop, during 2023, in the heart of the two cities Capital of Italian Culture 2023 in collaboration with the GAMeC of Bergamo and Brescia Museums Foundation . A fruitful example of collaboration between public and private, which generates value for the community.
Formiamo Umanità is an artistic project by Valerio Rocco Orlando, curated by Caroline Corbetta and commissioned by Guido Berlucchi on the occasion of Bergamo Brescia Italian Capital of Culture 2023.
The work, accessible free of charge to the public, was created starting from a series of meetings between the artist and a group of artistic and cultural mediators from the FAI Ponte tra cultures Group – Delegation of Brescia – who have been collaborating for years in intercultural projects with the Brescia Foundation Museums . Over the course of the meetings, a dialogue was established aimed at investigating the forms of social participation arising from the experience of valorising cultural heritage and the role of work seen as a tool for individual definition and social integration. Among the reflections that emerged with the participants, the artist selected an emblematic phrase, transcribing it into a neon light sculpture, handcrafted in a unique edition, with the same methodology used for the other two works of the Vite Operose cycle, respectively set up on the tower of the Berlucchi Castle in Borgonato and in the courtyard of the GAMeC in Bergamo.
