The Visitation is an oil painting on wood (202x156 cm) by Pontormo, dating back to around 1528-1530 and preserved in the parish church of Saints Michael and Francis in Carmignano, in the province of Prato. The work, created for the altar of the Pinadori family, has practically always remained in the church for which it was intended.
There is a preparatory drawing in the Cabinet of Drawings and Prints of the Uffizi, squared to be included in the preparation of the table.
