Verified profile

Vase (pseudo-pelike) found in 1933 in a Capuchin tomb in the Cannuzze district of Cosenza. Decorated in relief on both sides with subjects referable to the Dionysian cult (drunk and naked Dionysus among vine shoots, on one side; an elderly Silenus - Papposilenus - with tympanum, on the other) and probably imported from Asia Minor. Together with it, a cylindrical bronze container, probably used as a case for surgical tools, and a spoon probe (cyathiscomela) were recovered.
